Spotlight On BCMH

bcmh_copyBarton County Memorial Hospital is often called the small town hospital with a big heart. Offering basic healthcare and some specialized services, BCMH tries to tailor its services to the greatest needs of the community.

Patient care is, by far, what employees of the hospital claim make them stand out. Celebrating 66 years in October, patients can expect a relaxed ‘home-like’ atmosphere when receiving care from people who treat each person who enters the building as if they were one of their very own families.

One of the greatest obstacles the hospital has faced over the years is regulatory issues from the state and federal government. Being a rural hospital, BCMH faces many unique complications which those in urban areas do not. Of course, BCMH has overcome with the help of an involved and concerned community who recently voted to pass Proposition One.

BCMH is most proud of their new facility which was completed in 2007. What a long way they’ve come from their earliest days – click here to learn more about the history of Barton County Memorial Hospital.

In the future BCMH hopes to continue to provide their quality service and adjust to the ever changing needs of the community. As long time members of the Barton County Chamber of Commerce, BCMH recognizes the importance of utilizing the chamber to keep the community informed of new doctors and services available through BCMH, as well as being involved with progress in the community. “And the chamber excels at that very thing.” states Wendy Duvall, CEO of BCMH.
